Duo Revelio

The Revelio Duo, featuring Anissa Baniahmad (flute) and Jesse Flowers (guitar), was formed following their meeting at the German Music Competition and quickly evolved into a close artistic collaboration. As part of the Federal Selection Concerts for Young Artists, numerous joint performances throughout Germany fostered an intense musical partnership.

At the heart of their work lies the fascinating soundscape created by the combination of flute and guitar. With a wide stylistic range—from Baroque and Classical to South American music—they craft programs that blend tradition with new perspectives. In doing so, they not only dedicate themselves to the existing repertoire but also develop their own arrangements, bringing well-known works to life in fresh sonic contexts.

Critics and audiences alike particularly appreciate the expressiveness and subtlety of their ensemble playing: their music-making is characterized by nuanced sound design, virtuosity, and a lively musical communication.

The name “Revelio”—derived from the Latin revelare (“to reveal”)—says it all: The duo brings to light what lies hidden in the music and invites listeners to rediscover familiar works.
